Everything you need to know about our rugs, ordering, and services.

Ordering & Payment

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and bank transfer. For orders over ₹2,000, we also offer interest-free payment plans spread across 3 or 6 months — simply select "Pay in instalments" at checkout.
If your order hasn't shipped yet, we're happy to make changes or cancel it. Please email hello@knotcraft.in as soon as possible with your order number. Once an order has shipped, it follows our standard returns process.
While our packaging is already premium — unbleached cotton dust bag within recycled cardboard — we can add a handwritten gift card at no extra cost. Just add a note at checkout with your message and the recipient's name.

Products & Materials

Hand-knotted rugs are tied knot by knot on a loom — a single rug can take 6–18 months to complete. They are the most durable and valuable, often lasting 50+ years. Hand-tufted rugs use a tufting gun to push yarn through a canvas backing. They are quicker to produce (weeks rather than months) and offer a softer feel at a lower price point, with an expected lifespan of 10–20 years.
Yes. All our rugs — particularly wool and cotton — are compatible with underfloor heating systems. Wool is a natural insulator, so it will slightly reduce heat transfer to the surface, but this also creates a more even, comfortable warmth. We recommend using a thin, breathable rug pad underneath.
We photograph every rug in natural daylight for the most accurate representation. However, slight variations may appear across different screens. Because many of our rugs use natural dyes, minor colour variation between batches is normal and part of the handcrafted character. If you'd like a swatch before ordering, contact us and we'll send one free of charge.
Yes — some initial shedding is perfectly normal for new wool and hand-tufted rugs. This is excess fibre left over from the production process. It typically subsides within 2–4 weeks of regular vacuuming. It does not affect the rug's quality or longevity.

Shipping & Returns

UK standard delivery takes 5–7 business days, express is 2–3 days. European orders arrive in 7–12 days, and worldwide shipping takes 10–18 days. Visit our Shipping & Returns page for full details and pricing.
Yes, we ship worldwide. International shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the destination and rug size. Import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. We offset 100% of our shipping carbon emissions.
In the unlikely event your rug arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours at returns@knotcraft.in with photos of the damage. We'll arrange an immediate replacement or full refund — whichever you prefer.
Bespoke and custom-order rugs are non-returnable, as they are crafted uniquely to your specifications. We work closely with you throughout the design process to ensure the final piece is exactly right before production begins.

Care & Maintenance

Vacuum weekly on a low setting without the beater bar. For spills, blot immediately with a clean white cloth. For deeper cleaning, we recommend professional rug cleaning every 12–18 months. See our full Care Guide for detailed instructions by material type.
We strongly recommend using a rug pad for all our rugs. A quality pad prevents slipping, protects your floor, reduces wear on the rug's underside, and adds extra cushioning for comfort. Any non-slip, ventilated pad will work well.

Bespoke Service

Depending on size, complexity, and technique, a bespoke rug typically takes 8–20 weeks from design approval to delivery. Hand-knotted commissions are on the longer end; hand-tufted and flat-weave designs are faster. We provide estimated timelines during the consultation.
There's no minimum size, but bespoke pricing starts from ₹1,200 depending on technique and materials. Our design team will provide a detailed quote after your initial consultation. Visit our Bespoke page to start the process.
Absolutely. Before production begins, we create a strike-off — a small sample of the actual design, woven in the chosen materials and colours. This gives you a tactile preview of the finished rug. A 50% deposit is required to begin the sampling stage.
